Door County Vacation Packages

The magic of the Door Peninsula begins at Bay Point Inn where the azure waters of Green Bay greet you as you enter your villa. We’ll replace the world of noise, traffic and utility wires with a panoramic view of the shoreline punctuated only by Door Peninsula forests, distant Islands and sailing yachts.

We’ll start your vacation with a cheese and cracker tray (order with guest services) to enjoy as you contemplate relaxation on your private deck. Bring your own wine or order a bottle through guest services. During the longest days in July sunset is around 8:30pm and earlier as the season progresses. Plan your first nights meal around the sunset with a later reservation at a nearby restaurant.

Here is a list of nearby restaurants for your reference during your stay.

Traditional Fish Boil

Each evening, beginning at 5:00 p.m., Pelletier's in Fish Creek, Wisconsin specializes in serving the most famous native dish to Door County: the Door County Fish Boil.

This feast is a tradition passed on from generation to generation, and is unique to our area.

The settlers of the last century came to this wilderness to seek their fortunes in the heavily timbered forests and bountiful waters of the Door peninsula. Out of their resourcefulness and spirit of cooperation, the Fish Boil evolved, and the fishermen and farmers provided sustenance for groups of hungry lumbermen and settlers.

Technology has found no way to improve upon the methods of a century ago. The Pelletier's Fish boil is celebrated in at its traditional best, as our technique has been preserved and passed down from Pelletier's Master Boiler/Owner Matthew Peterson's Grandfather, to his Father, and now to him.

Sunset's at Bay Point Inn

Peninsula Players

The Peninsula Players has a history which is as captivating as the plays staged at the theatre during the past 71 years. And it began simply with "two planks and a passion."

Patrons have returned year after year, drawn by the theatre's tradition of providing exceptional professional productions of classic and contemporary literature. They are also delighted by the talent of its acting company and the theatre's serene location along the shores of Green Bay.

Washington Island Ferry

Just a few miles off the tip of the Door County peninsula lies Washington Island. A friendly year-round home to 700 people, the island is also an enchanting destination for thousands of visitors each year. The Washington Island Ferry Line is the vital transportation link across storied Death's Door passage.

When you reach the end of Highway 42 you'll find Northport Pier, and the Washington Island Ferry Line. After vehicles and passengers are safely on board we shove off for a 30-minute ride past nearby Plum, Pilot and Detroit Islands. This area is filled with history. You will be making the same passage as the Native Americans who paddled their canoes from island to island, French explorers who came to the area, and schooners who traveled the area a century ago.

The visit to Washington Island is an enjoyable one with 35-square miles to explore. Here is a list of some of the sites:

• Art and Nature Center • Mountain Park & Lookout Tower
• Schoolhouse Beach • Hiking and Biking Opportunities

Skyway Drive-In Theatre

American Folklore Theatre

Welcome To American Folklore Theatre / www.folkloretheatre.com

Humble yet polished, hopeful, yet not sentimental, historical yet hysterical — that's the oddball wonder we call AFT. In Door County, Wisconsin, we don't wait to see what goes over in Manhattan. We forge ahead and write lyrics, the whole shebang.

Plenty of sensible souls would rather listen to their brother-in-law drone for two hours about pork belly futures than suffer through an evening of "original theatre," and we know just how they feel. So we build our shows on the rock of American folk culture: the great tales, the aching melodies, the drawling turns of phrase that have survived generation to generation.

In our little corner of the woods, those ominous rumblings about the Death of American Musical Theatre are drowned out by the footfalls of 50,000 loyal fans strolling down the path in Fish Creek's Peninsula State Park each year to laugh and cry with our merry players under the newborn stars
